Long-time readers may remember that in March 2012, Front-Free urged you to Get Familiar with a young man named Isaiah Rashad. Now signed to Kendrick Lamar’s TDE imprint, his album Cilvia Demo is available now on iTunes. I’ve given it a listen and I have to say I’m impressed with Rashad’s progress as an artist. Holding down the album without the help of his rapping TDE cohorts (SZA does appear, though), Rashad manages to tell a unique story while delivering clear and concise wordplay, not unlike Schoolboy Q or Kendrick, but yet totally staying true to his Southern roots. Looking forward to seeing where this brother goes in the future.
